I.B.(P.G.) College Panipat celebrated the birth anniversary of William Shakespeare

BOL PANIPAT : Tagore Society of Department of English, I.B. (P.G.) College Panipat celebrated the birth anniversary of William Shakespeare and English language Day by organising Two National level online Competitions- “Recitation of Shakespeare’s soliloquies” and “Slogan writing on English language in Present Scenario” entries were to be sent at the given email ID by 8 May, 2023.

More than 50 and trees were received from college and universities from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, New Delhi etc. Results were announced on 12th May 2023. Dr.Vinay Wadhwa Former Associate Professor English I.B. (PG) College and Professor Rakesh Mohan former Head and Associate Professor English Arya PG College Panipat performed the role of judges.

For Recitation, Ms Ashna Verma, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla was adjudged first. Jagdeep Singh, M.L.N. college, Yamunanagar and Anisha Rana BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya were announced second and third, respectively. For slogan writing Lagan Garg, Thapar institute of engineering and Technology, Patiala,  Punjab, Ankit, Government College Balsamand and Aayushi Sandhu, Punjab University, Chandigarh var adjudged first, second and third respectively. Dr. Ajay Garg, Principal, I.B. College, said that events such as Soliloque Recitation introduces the students to the nuances  of drama and those like slogan writing opens new vistas of thought for them. He congratulated the organising team Dr. Nidhi, Dr. Swati Punia and Dr. Neha Punia on the successful conduct of the event. Professor Neelam Dahia department of English said that such events are important for the overall development of students, especially those of language and literature.
